I don’t remember my tablet password to unlock it and I just switched phones and don’t have my info in my notes anymore so I wanted to know if it was possible to do a hard reset and just start the thing from scratch

    Hi FTDLoco,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

If you need to factory reset your Surface Pro tablet but don't remember the password, you can still perform a reset using the following steps:

You can get to the reset option by restarting your Surface from the sign-in screen. Here’s how:

    1. On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key  + L. If you need to, dismiss the lock screen.
    2. Hold the Shift key down while you select Power  > Restart in the lower-right corner of the screen.
    3. After your Surface restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.

If the above method does not work or you need a more thorough reset, you might need a USB recovery drive. Here’s how you can create one (using another PC): Creating and using a USB recovery drive for Surface - Microsoft Support

If you follow these steps, you should be able to reset your Surface Pro and start fresh. If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely
