When is Microsoft going to replace all the original Surface Duo with new Duo 2s

I would like to know when Microsoft will begin replacing or refunding for the original surface duo?

They promised 3 years of security and os updates... So far its been well over 1 year since its release and zero os updates have been provided. Microsoft is the world's largest software company.

An update to Android 11 was advertised to be upgraded shortly after the release... That didn't happen... Summer 21...late summer 21....fall 2021...all nothing... Now by the end of 21...and nothing... Microsoft is on winter break... I want a refund or replacement asap!

Actually... You are wrong... Reread my statement.... Zero os updates...

They have only provided security updates. The two are different.

Explain to me...how is your snarky comment is useful or helpful?

I highly doubt you watch "all" about the Duo and there is quite a lot about the duo that is speculation. I am going on statements made by Microsoft.

Many blogs specifically have called out MS for specifically not providing any updates for the OS.

Defend if you must... But MS has screwed their customers.

I read the article. That is no excuse for Microsoft not putting enough resources to fix issues and OS updates. I want a refund or a free upgrade to the Duo 2.

Explain to me why and how I should trust Microsoft after how they handled and continue to handle the original duo...the update should have been sent to Google playstore for certification way before it was. The manager in charge of duo resources and planning/scheduling should lose their jobs. This is turned into quite the PR bad for Microsoft, this horrible project management needs a public firing. Panos should be demoted, I will never believe another word from him or care to see him promote Microsoft in the future.

We're finalizing the validation and certification for Android 11. We originally planned to deploy Android 11 as an update for Surface Duo in December, but we needed a few more weeks to ensure a great experience for Surface Duo customers. We expect to begin Android 11 rollout in the next few weeks, beginning with unlocked devices.

An update to an operating system is commonly referred to as new, improved, or fixed software, which replaces older versions of the same software. So there are numerous updates to the operating system -- granted none of which is a update to a new version of the operating system but many fix system bugs as listed in the description of the change log. If you are saying no upgrades to Android 11 for the original Duo, that is absolutely correct. But there have been more than just security updates.

I never said I watched "all" about the Surface Duo. I said I never saw anything to confirm your assertions. So, again, please provide a link to your asserting that an update to Android 11 was advertised to be upgraded "shortly after" release ("statements by Microsoft") so that I can see them to increase my knowledge base. I apparently missed any such advertisement or statements by Microsoft.

My post was not intended to be snarky. I'm sorry you took it that way.

Microsoft has issued fourteen updates to the original Surface Duo (see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/surface-duo-2-update-history-a3e72e49-8165-4ea6-b490-7fdc2a76c262 , so your claim about no updates is flat wrong.

Please provide a link to your asserting that an update to Android 11 was advertised to be upgraded "shortly after" release. I follow the Surface Duo product line and associate reviews/comments and have never seen such a commitment.

Sweet dreams about an "refund or replacement."
