I want to purchase the Surface Go 4 10.5" screen. I want a very light weight tablet with wdw 11 pro, extra ports, Minimum 8GB ram, 256GB storage with a very fast processor. With upgraded front, back cameras for zoom/skype. I want to link a tablet to my home office laptop to access files when away.

Lenovo has a tablet for students, 10w, Part Number  82ST0002US. 10" screen, wdw 11 pro,  Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 7c Gen 2 (2.50 GHz ). But the cameras are not high pixel.

If MS is not going to start selling Surface Go 4 soon (it was supposed to been available Oct/2022), then I will have to purchase the Lenovo 10w.

Hello all - The only true tablet-like Surface in terms of size/weight is the Go. If anything, getting it under 1 pound would be ideal, as even the current weight of the Surface Go is problematic for longer tablet use, especially for one-hand tasks like reading, or if you have a bad back and don't want to carry much weight.

With all due respect to the good folks at MS, I believe there may be confusion within the company about the Go. Is it merely small and light because it is cheap? A good option for some, but others like myself the answer is no, I want an even lighter laptop/tablet that has the more tablet like capabilities and feel, when used without its keyboard.

Next most important is a brighter screen, so the little tablet/laptop can be used outdoors at cafes and coffee shops. Some extra battery life would be a nice 3rd feature.

I would ignore the pundits who always call for smaller bezels, as you need a decent bezel to hold the machine in one hand. Similarly, speed/memory is less an issue than the above items, I think. In fact, I suspect the Surface Go 3 already has enough speed and memory for many of us. I use office, multiple browsers, etc. fine with the original Surface Go 1, but Office/browsing/reading is so difficult in tablet mode, I don't even bother half the time.

    Thanks!

Read again what I wrote. I want about 10" screen and very light weight tablet not a laptop (Surface Go is 1.3lbs). To use when away from my home office laptop. I do not want another laptop.

So far, good. I am taking it slow to add software and this evaluation is in S-mode after about one week of sporatic use. Waiting to upgrade to W11 Pro needed for some of my software and network operations. I am using the included Web MS365 -- Word and PowerPoint, both work just like the subscription on my Surface Pro 7. The Go3 conncets to my home network and church staff network just fine. Used it instead of paper to give a Bible class lecture and worked great. PowerPoint worked, including the imbeded video. Zoom seems to work ok. I was concerned whether the i3 would be fast enough for imbeded PPT video, but so far, good. I bought the Go3 through COSTCO because of their included extended warranty, 90-day return and the 256 SSD. I charged the Go3 when I opened the box and it has lasted about a week of an hour here and hour there. No idea yet of how long for a full day off the charger. Because I am still in S-mode I am unable to install Displaylink required for the Plugable UD-3900H dock I use to operate two external monitors, but I am able to use one external monitor with a Plugable C to HDMI hub adapter. I have used it to take sermon notes in OneNote. I like the size and works great with the MS pen. I do not use my computers for gaming. Hope this helps, thanks for asking.

    I understand, rayon100.

If you wish to have a lightweight Surface device, then I'd recommend getting the Surface Go 3 (microsoft.com) with Intel Core i3 8GB RAM and only has a maximum of 128GB storage though. That's the best Surface device for you in the market for now. But also take note that Surface Pro 9 is also a lightweight device starting at 1.94 lb which you can carry as a tablet that can replace your laptop.

    Hello rayon100,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community. I appreciate your interest to our Surface devices.

Unfortunately, we don't have the specific information as to when it will be released as it has not also been announced yet. Hence, based on your preference of the RAM and processor, you might want to check these latest portable Surface devices that were released in the market.
