Screen incorrectly detects folding state.

Been having an issue for some time, since I got my Surface Duo, but it has gotten a lot worse recently.  I originally dismissed it as just a bit of first-gen hardware jank.

While casually using the device fully open, the Surface Duo suddenly believes it is folded back, displaying the, "double-tap to switch screens," notice before shutting off one of the screens.  The device was not folded and the screen that turns off is random.  This seems to be a hinge sensor glitch of some kind.

It seems to behave itself for a bit after being idle and unused, but as it heats up from web browsing or what not, it becomes more likely to get a false fold-state reading.  Sometimes, adjusting the angle of the screens will bring it back and other times it is quite stubborn.

There appears to be no option to disable the hinge sensor or otherwise override the sensor's behavior.

So, Microsoft Community Support Board: what do?  You're all Microsoft employees and qualified customer support technicians, right?  You must be, because this is the only obvious technical support option I can find.

Oh, it just did it again...  Stupid hinge.  😒

The April update made this issue worse. My Duo is almost unusable since the April update and I am constantly fighting it and restarting it to get functionality back. This is the worse it has been since I got it on the original day of release.

I have the latest April update and have the same issue, though the repro isn't completely consistent. Ever since the April update, some combination of it and the Launcher update at the same time are also causing my Duo to restart many times a day. It'd be great to have help with either/both.

    Hello,

Have you installed the latest April update for the Duo? If so is the issue still persisting? If so I would like to capture a bug report from you to troubleshoot this further.
