Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Battery Bulging/Safety Issue

I am facing exactly the same issue as the one found in this Reddit post and https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/all/microsoft-surface-pro-4-battery-bulgingsafety/0709082c-443a-463a-b811-dfbe9169957d

I own a MS Surface Pro 4, and some yellowish tints have appeared on both sides of the screen. This is flagrant when viewing using a white background application ie. Notepad

Some pictures to illustrate what I'm facing.

Needless to say, I'm very concerned on safety issues for me and my family as this is my daily laptop, I have read that there are cases were battery exploded, and some cases where MS sent a containment box!!

I contacted MS Support on saturday feb 8th, a case was created but then I received a case closed notification a few days later (***Removed PII***) then on saturday feb 15th, I called support again, and a new case number was created : ***Removed PII***, and so far no result except they asked me to stop using the device and wait...

oh and I received like 90 emails, and same amount of text messages:

joke apart, I have doubts it is normal.. :\

I'm already very disappointed for a premium product such as the Surface Pro I have : Core i7, 16GB, 256GB SSD and lack of support regarding this safety issue.

Do you all have similar issue battery/screen issue like mine?

#MicrosoftSupport Please help.

Reported the issue on https://www.saferproducts.gov/

I am disappointing in Microsoft. I myself have the same issue, contact support, and they told me that my Surface pro 4 WAS out of warranty. The support guy didn't care about going any further. I told him that my battery was expanding and my screen popped out, and I was having discoloration issues on the screen. This is also a mayor SAFETY ISSUE.

I asked for a support case, and the support guy said he was going to send me to a higher tier. Then he said, that he was actually chatting with the higher tier and asked me to Hold. And he left me holding for over 5 minutes and later hang up on me??????????????

I am sorry, but this products are expensive, support even said this was a KNOW ISSUE for the surface pro 4. I am so upset becaues I need to work with this device and I've always had Microsoft products, from the surface pro 3, surface pro 4, and now a Surface Book... should I just return my newest computer if this is the type of service that I'll received?

A battery is a mayor concern, this is a know issue and Microsoft wants to look the other way.

    I Have a SP4, i5, 8 GB Ram 256 SDD.

    Thank you,

    Mauro

Experiencing all of what has been described in this thread. Never heard about the Microsoft extension of the warranty. You'd think they'd inform people in their system.

I'll try calling MSFT support and see what is said.

Charger started acting wonky and now this! When I checked 2 or 3 weeks ago, MSFT stores were still closed due to the pandemic. And with most being inside malls....(sigh)

    Hi

I have the exact same issue and Microsoft refuses to assist ,

The engineer contacted me , took down the serial number of the surface and thereafter told me its out of warantee

Since than two of my colleagues who also purchased their surface the same time as i bought my surface have managed to get their replaced , the engineer who is supposedly working on this case  keep sending me emails saying they could not reach me however I do not see any miss calls on my mobile . When has spoken to me a few times he wasn't willing to assist much

The surface book had a fault by design , the screen swells and buldges  ,and now the engineer says i need to purchase a new surface ( for a fault which is by Design )

Many of my colleagues at work are getting their surfaces replaced and was purchased the same time as my surface

I think it's unacceptable that I would need to pay for a replacement when your Microsoft product had a flaw in it.. Which could lead to the machine causing harm of screen popped while working on it  and I have logged this case with Microsoft , its ongoing on for almost a year now .

Please let me know if this can be escalated .
