Id like to turn off the touch screen on a surface 4 laptop running windows 11.

the general instruction says to;

Press Windows key + X. Select Device Manager.

  1. Find HID-Compliant touchscreen under Human Interface Devices.
  2. Right-click the device name and select Disable or Enable.

but that isnt an option in the device manager....

    Hi David Hawkins2,

    Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.

    In this case where the HID-compliant touchscreen is not available, please do disable the Intel Precise Touch and Stylus driver. Right-click on it then select Disable device.

    Let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards,
    Marrion

    Hi Marrion,

    I'm encountering the same issue and I don't have either the HID-compliant touch screen OR the Intel Precise Touch and Stylus driver.

    PLEASE HELP. The touch screen is messing up my ability to close the laptop and work on external monitors, as the cursor is constantly jumping around from the touch screen laying on the keyboard.

    I've also been trying to insert a screenshot of what I do have, but on several browsers my image files are failing to upload.

    Thank you for your help.

    I did this but this also disables the stylus functionality. Is there anyway to disable the touch screen without also disabling the stylus touch recognition?
