Is a Surface pro 9 compatible with a Monitor?

Yes, I recently purchased the surface pro 9, and out of curiosity, is it compatible with a monitor or not? I was not really looking for the amount of ports it has but I believe it has 2. I don't know if a 2 in 1 would work with a monitor anyway, so let me know when you can.

    Hi David,

Congratulations on your newly purchase Surface device.

Yes, the Surface Pro 9 is compatible with a monitor. It has a USB-C port that supports video output, so you can connect it to a monitor that has a USB-C port or use an adapter to connect it to a monitor with HDMI or DisplayPort. You can also use the Surface Dock to connect to multiple monitors and other peripherals. It supports up to 2 external monitors. You can find more details from this troubleshooting article, Troubleshoot connecting Surface to an external display - Microsoft Support.

It is worth noting that the Surface Pro 9 has been tested with various external monitors, docks, cables, and adapters by Surface engineering to ensure the best experience.

I hope these answers your question.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia

Does the Surface Pro 9 support ultrawide monitors with the 21:9 aspect ratio? In display settings it doesn't offer a 21:9 aspect ratio that suits the ultrawide monitor.

    Regards
    Ray

    Hi Lavinia,

You mention that Surface Pro engineers have tested the surface pro 9 with various cables for compatibility. Would you be so kind as to tell me the results of their testing? In other words, which HDMI to USB-C Thunderbolt 4 cables they have determined to be compatible with the surface pro 9?

    Thank you,

    Linda Nye

    Hey,

Do you also know if the surface pro 9 can be used as a monitor for the Xbox series X consoles?
