Surface Laptop Go 2

I need a replacement power adapter for my Surface Laptop Go 2. Model 1963. I cannot find one. I've checked Microsoft store and authorized resellers. Is there an alternate that will work? I am particularly concerned about the recalled power adaptor. Mine is damaged and I can't figure out how to get a replacement.

Thank you

Ellen

    Hello Ellen,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

If you now know that the power adapter for the Surface Laptop Go 2 is broken and you're looking for a new one, this is what you need:

Buy Microsoft Surface 127W Power Supply – Microsoft Surface

This power adapter is compatible with all Surface devices.

Don't worry about overpowering your Surface Laptop Go 2, as they all use a 15V voltage rating, and the power adapter has an adjustment chip that automatically adjusts according to the connected Surface model.

Another power adapter is less expensive:

Buy Microsoft Surface 65W Power Supply - Microsoft Store ****

This is the corresponding compatibility introduction:

But if you are still undecided, you can contact a sales representative to determine which power adapter is more suitable for you.

If you're still looking for any alternatives, then I would recommend you try charging with a USB-C port, as the Surface Laptop Go 2 supports USB-C charging:

USB-C and Fast Charging for Surface - Microsoft Support

However, you may need to use a PD charger with the same charging power as the original power adapter (39W), and you need to ensure that the power adapter can provide 15V voltage, otherwise you may not be able to charge your Surface.
