I will be using the laptop to do email, web browsing, outlook, word, excel. (Microsoft Office).  I run a lot of programs at the same time and keep alot of windows open.  I won't be using it for games.  I am just looking for a laptop that is fast and reliable.

Which one would you recommend?  Surface Book 2 vs. Surface Laptop 3.

Surface | Surface Laptop | Power and battery

Don't go for the laptop 3 as there is a power problem whereby it shuts down randomly and it also overheats when on mains power supply sometimes. You will see these issues referred to on other threads on this forum. My model is the top of the range 15inch laptop 3 and I use it as my main PC with 2 screens. It's fine when used on the battery, but not with the docking station on mains power.

I have previously used Surface Book 1 & 2 and they were both 100% reliable. Excellent machines.
