Yes, I understand that this is ideal - but does this mean that 18W charging is not possible? I've found numerous sources claiming that this should work with Surface Pro 7.
Surface Pro 7 doesn't charge with USB-C powerbank
Hi,
I have a Surface Pro 7, Windows 11, purchased exclusively for the possibility to charge from an external powerbank. I have just purchased a Biolite 80 powerbank, which offers an 18W USB-C connection. I read elsewhere on Microsoft that this should be enough for a slow charge.
When I connect USB-C to USB-C, the Surface lights up for a moment, but then doesn't continue to charge. Even with all applications closed, with the computer turned off and plugged in for hours, etc.
All system updates and drivers are installed. Any help?
Thanks!

2023-01-03T21:28:33+00:00 Hi Jonathan,
We recommend using a USB-C PD charger that provides at least the same wattage as the power supply that was included with your Surface. For a Surface Pro 7 that would be 60 watts.
