You can only install apps from the Windows Store. RT is discontinued, no further
development will be done and Google will not make a version that runs on RT.
Regular Windows programs do not run on RT.
App cannot be run on Surface RT Windows RT 8.1
I have recently gotten a Surface RT. This guys has Windows RT 8.1 and 32GB storage. Since IE is old stuff, I tried to download Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, in addition to that Windows 10. However I couldn't make it because an error message saying "This app can't run on your PC" is shown. How can I fix this problem? I just wanted to do web browsing on this surface meaning that I will not do any complicated activity.

Only apps from the Windows Store that are compiled for Windows RT - and since RT
is discontinued, no one is authoring apps for RT. There MAY be security updates
offered, but no features will be added. -

I was using it just for Netflix, but now it's not working neither.
So sad we can't continue using an electronic that was expensive.
No good from Microsoft.
