I seem to be having the same issue. Originally thought it was the firewall or a policy that was blocking it. After removing the device from azure because it was a managed device and turning off the windows firewall, the issue still persists. Multiple users with surfaces are experiencing this but users on other pcs like HP or Lenovo are having no issues. Yes, I already performed the troubleshooting steps above to try and resolve the problem but my clients are still unable to cast to any smart TV
I cannot cast my surface pro 9 to my smart tv
I cannot screen share my surface pro 9 with my smart TV

2024-01-20T18:50:11+00:00 Hello mshog,
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble casting your Surface Pro 9 to your smart TV. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
- Make sure that your Surface Pro 9 and your smart TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Check if your smart TV supports Miracast. If it does, you can use these features to cast your Surface Pro 9 to your TV.
- On your Surface Pro 9, go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > Add Bluetooth or other device > Wireless display or dock. Your Surface Pro 9 should detect your smart TV. Select it and follow the on-screen instructions to connect.

Please let me know how it goes and hopefully it helps.
Best regards,
Rolando S.

2024-01-24T20:48:58+00:00 Hello Stephane,
Thank you so much for your response and I appreciate the time and effort you put into this. Allow me to ask these questions:
- Is there a specific error when you try to cast the TV? Like "couldn't connect" or you can't view the TV when you cast it?
- May I also know what specific model your Surface Pro 9 is? Is it an Intel based or an Arm based?
- May I also know the make and model of your TV?
Here are other things you may try to fix the issue:
- Allow the adapter to communicate through Windows Firewall
Windows Firewall might be preventing the adapter from connecting to your device. Here's how to allow the adapter to communicate through the firewall:
- Select **Search**on the taskbar, enter **allow firewall**, then select **Allow an app through Windows Firewall**from the list of results. - Under **Name**, find **Wireless Display**, make sure **Private**and **Public** are selected, then select **OK**.**Note:**If you can’t select anything in the Allowed apps and features box, you aren't logged in as an administrator. Select Change Settings, type your administrator password, and select Yes. If you're an administrator on your device, the password should be the same as the one you used to set up your device. Then, make sure Private and Public are selected and select OK 2. If any case your Surface Pro 9 is an Intel based, try to reinstall the network adapter driver. Go to Device manager > expand Network Adapter > right click Intel R Wi-fi > select Uninstall > Restart device after. 3. You may also try to cast this device to other Surface devices or laptop that you have in your organization and see if issue persists.
Please let me know how it goes and hopefully it helps.
