Coolermaster support confirmed the EG200 is not compatible with Windows 11. I suggest opening a ticket to their support and keeping it open so they expedite the fix.
AMD eGPU on Windows 11 (SP8) possible?
Hello,
I was wondering if someone knew a way to get AMD eGPUs (in my case an rx 6700 xt) working on Win11 (currently just getting Error code 12 on my SP8 ) or if there is an Update in sight enabling one to connnetct an AMD GPU via TB4...
TIA

2021-11-09T17:28:00+00:00 I am using a TB3 cable that came with the enclosure, the Cooler Master eg200 enclosure and I have tried both the Adrenalin 21.11.1 and the 21.10.2 drivers with no success.

I'd like to ask for some more details regarding with this concern:
- Are you using a Thunderbolt 4 cable to connect the eGPU to the device?
- What external enclosure are you using for the RX 6700 RT?
- Have you installed AMD drivers for the RX 6700 RT? If yes, may I know which version did you install?

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.
Surface Pro 8 comes with 2 USB-C ports with USB4.0/Thunderbolt 4 compatibility. This should include support for external graphics which allows you to connect an external GPU to the device.
May I know if there are other accessories connected to the device (other than the eGPU, typecover and power supply)?
Just to confirm, the eGPU shows up in Device Manager but it is getting the error code 12, correct? Error code 12 usually occurs if two devices that are installed on your computer have been assigned the same I/O ports, the same interrupt, or the same Direct Memory Access channel (either by the BIOS, the operating system, or both). See: Error codes in Device Manager in Windows (microsoft.com). Try to double-click the eGPU in Device Manager then go to its Driver tab and click on Update device. Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
If the issue persist, please try to take a screenshot of the Device Manager window with the Display adapters section expanded and also with the entry for the eGPU.
