My company just stopped any of my O365 applications from working on my Surface Duo 2. Says Android devices must be at OS 13 in order to have access.

    Leo,

Thanks for the fast response back - much appreciated. This is very disappointing news when my device is just two years old and cost $1,500. Would hope that Microsoft would be more supportive for their customers in providing updates to newer versions of Android - especially when companies require for security.

This was a very productive device for work and offered great multi-tasking capabilities. Unfortunately, I would not be able to install anything not supported by Microsoft since it’s used for work and my companies requirements for security.

I have to believe there are many customers who feel very disappointed in the unwillingness of MS to support updates for these expensive Surface products. Can you pass this message to whoever is running the Surface group. Sorry they decided to stop selling the Duo but I think they owe it to their customers to support the software and OS upgrade capabilities for a longer period of time. We put our trust in MS in making the purchase and this is not a trivial thing and very bad customer support and experience with MS as a company.

    Hello, Zeagen.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community!

After reading what you posted, I understand that your organization needs to be using an Android 13 version of the device to be able to access Office365 related apps.

As for the Surface Duo 2, it is still running Android 12L and Microsoft has not yet announced plans to update it to Android 13. This means you may not be able to get the Android 13 update through official channels.

You can refer to the update history:

If your company requires the device to be running Android 13 in order to access the O365 app, you may want to consider replacing the device or discussing alternative solutions with your IT department.

Meanwhile, don't rule out some unofficial unexpected, nice way to be able to upgrade your Surface Duo 2 to Android 13.

Therefore, I will not close the thread. There may be amazing passersby who can share their experiences with you.

Thank you for your support and understanding of Surface products.

Finally, please allow me to express my sincere wishes.

    Best Regards.
