Touchscreen stopped working with my hand after the windows 11 update.

Hello, I have the same problem as the person who reported this problem to you before:

when I type on the virtual keyboard or on the screen with my fingers, it works for a few seconds, then typing hangs for a few seconds intermittently. When you click with the stylus, it works again immediately... Then it immediately freezes again or it still works for a few seconds...

I have obviously tried ALL of the suggestions you offered with no success.

I even went so far as to reinstall Windows 11 from a USB drive, erasing all the data.

Then in desperation, I restarted my PC in safe mode and was pleasantly surprised to find that the touch screen worked perfectly.

Since I have the same problem as the other user since one of your last updates, it is obvious that this problem comes from this update.

Please correct this.

Thanking you for your kind attention, I wish you an excellent day and wholeheartedly hope to have a very quick response.

    Hi J Dil,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Surface touchscreen after the Windows 11 update. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Open Device Manager.

    1. Locate and expand Human Interface Devices.
    2. Expand Human Interface Devices.
    3. Right-click on HID-Compliant Touch Screen and select Uninstall. If there is more than one driver, uninstall those as well.
    4. Right-click on Intel(R) Precise Touch Device and select Uninstall.
    5. From the Action menu, select Scan for hardware changes. You may also need to restart the Surface.
    • Roll Back the Recent Update:

       - If the issue started after a specific update, you might consider rolling back to a previous version.

       - Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update history > Uninstall updates.

I hope this helps, and your touchscreen functionality is restored soon! If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely

I would like to thank you for your very quick response.

I followed ALL your recommendations without success unfortunately.

I tried safe mode again and it worked as I already told you.

It seems to me that now it's up to you to test a surface pro 6 and try to see if you have the same problem. Could you explain to me why this works in safe mode and not otherwise?

as I told you, I completely reset my surface: I used a USB recovery key. so my pc was in initial state without any additional software that could have caused a problem.

It seems to me that now the ball is in your court.

I have done my best and I am sure you will do yours by testing and applying any corrections that seem necessary.

I wish you a good day and thank you for your attention
