I bought a Surface Laptop 5 through a college bookstore, and I would like to cancel the order. It isn’t linked to my Microsoft account at all, and the bookstore said they cannot cancel it.

I recently bought it through the Follett Bookstore to get it shipped on campus, but it’s been 7 days and I haven’t gotten a tracking number or any order confirmation, and I want to cancel the order. I can’t reach anyone on the Microsoft Store Support phone number either.

    Hello Owen Patrick Berrier,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I fully understand your need for a refund, but please allow me to kindly explain to you here.

If you purchased this Surface Laptop 5 from the official Microsoft Store, then I will not hesitate to provide you with the contact information of the official Microsoft store support. However, I noticed that you purchased it from Follett Bookstore, which means that this product is not from the official Microsoft Store, so no order will be generated in the store when this purchase is completed. Therefore, if you have a request for a refund, you will need to negotiate directly with the seller, namely Follett Bookstore.

If the bookstore says they can't cancel the order, you'll need to check with them as the order is not available on the Microsoft Store.

    Best Regards,

Mitchell | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
