Hi

My surface book 2 is 4 and half years old and its full charge battery capacity is extremely low (see screenshot below).

Any suggestions on how to improve it? Is it possible to replace batteries, if so how and what is the average cost?

Thank you for any suggestion

    Dear Barb Bowman,

Thank you so much for your reply.

I followed the procedure but unfortunately it did not solve the problem.

The capacity slightly increased but it's still extremely low and my machine works for only a few minutes without power supply and it loses its little power quickly even when off.

I am really bummed by the low durability of the surface book 2 (purchased july 2018).

We can try removing and reinstalling the battery driver. To do this:

    1. Plug in your Surface.
    2. Select search on the taskbar, enter device manager, and in the search results, select Device Manager.
    3. Select the arrow next to the Batteries category.
    4. Double-tap or double-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery/Surface Battery (depends on your model), select the Driver tab, and select Uninstall > OK. (Or you can right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and select Uninstall.)
    5. Leave your Surface plugged in.
    6. After you remove the battery driver, install Surface and Windows updates. Go to Settings, Updates, and check for updates manually and install any updates that are available.
    7. Restart your Surface and test to see if anything has changed.

The batteries in Surface Book devices are not replaceable.
