Hi Sandisha,
Thank you for confirming the model of your Surface and for clarifying the concern. I understand that you just want to remove the "Eject Surface HID Keyboard" without disabling the keyboard and not removing the entire "Safely remove Hardware" icon on the system tray. Kindly try these steps below then see how it goes to remove the "Eject Surface HID Keyboard" entry:
- Right-click on the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" button in the tray.
- Select "Customize notification icons" from the menu.
- In the "Notification Area Icons" window, find the "Surface Type Cover" entry.
- Click on the drop-down menu next to the "Surface Type Cover" entry and select "Hide icon and notifications".
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
This will remove the "Eject Surface HID Keyboard" entry from the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" button in the tray on your Surface Pro 9.
Let me know how it goes.
Kind regards,
Marrion
