Surface Pro wifi connects but no internet

My wife's surface Pro just began having issues connecting to wifi. This morning, it will not connect. Deleted the wifi network from the Surface Pro, and had it refind it and log in, but no luck. I've tried uninstalling network card and letting window reinstall. I've tried disabling/enabling adapter. I've run troubleshooter and it comes back saying "Problem with wireless adapter or access point", and that it was "fixed". But still no internet.

I have my older Surface Pro running right next to the new one, and its wifi connects to the internet fine.

Since I cannot access the internet on my wife's Surface Pro, I can run any windows updates.

Suggestions?

Since it worked fine for the last couple months since we bought it, I am wondering if the wifi hardware is defective?

    Hi, RickALO!

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community. We are sorry to learn you have issues with your wife's Surface Pro 7 not getting connected to the Internet after being able to establish a connection to your Wi-Fi. Thanks for taking the time to let us know about this.

If ever you receive a notification about a response made on your post and can no longer see it, it has been removed. That phone number was posted by a scammer trying to steal money from you. Whenever someone posts a number using funny fonts, strange characters, etc., you can guarantee they are doing so for a nefarious reason. If it was a legitimate number being provided with sincerity, we wouldn't have deleted it.

A brand new Surface device has a 1-year warranty and we never collect payment to send out a technician or provide assistance over the phone/chat.

Back to your concern, kindly check this https://support.microsoft.com/help/10741/ page to be guided on fixing Wi-Fi connection issues.

    • You can also force shutdown the device and restart.
    1. Press and hold the power button until the screen turns off (about 10 seconds), then release the power button.
    2. Press and release the power button to turn your Surface back on. You should see the Microsoft logo.

If that doesn't work, here's how to make sure your Surface turns off completely:

Press and hold down the power button until your Surface restarts and you see the Windows logo screen (about 20 seconds), then release the power button.

Furthermore, please check https://support.microsoft.com/help/4023500/ if your Internet is still not connected even if you're connected to Wi-Fi.

Also try doing a Network Reset by going to **Settings > Network & Internet > Status >**scroll down and select Network Reset.

If this answers your question, please let our Community know by marking this post as an answer. Otherwise, don't hesitate to respond to this thread if there’s anything else that needs to be addressed.

    Kind regards,

    Janette_Z

I should note this is a Surface Pro 6 purchased new from Amazon.com in January, 18, 2020.

I received a phone number to call regarding my problem, and discussed with the technician. I was told that since the Surface Pro was only 6+ months old, Microsoft would send a person to our home and either fix the problem or provide a new Surface Pro. We would have to pay $50 (non-refundable).

Is this legit? I was unaware Microsoft sent technicians to homes to repair PCs under warranty, and if it couldn't be repaired, the unit would be replaced with a new one.

Want to make sure we aren't being scammed.

Thank you for any advice anyone might have.
