All of a sudden a Surface Book 3 no longer takes charging via USB-C. The charging icon over the battery icon in the system tray just blinks every second.
We tried with multiple USB-C chargers - they all provide enough power and they all work with other Surface Books 3 devices we have.
The product is just outside of its 1 year warranty, so we need a replacement keyboard.
Some other support answer says you cannot connect a Surface Book 3 keyboard with a screen other than the one it came with. That's nonsense, we can use any Surface Book 3 keyboard unit with any Surface Book 3 screen unit.
So, how do we get a replacement keyboard for the Surface Book 3?

I had a Surface, Surface Pro 3 and now Surface Book 3. Guess I will be purchasing a Macbook instead.
Create an aftermarket keyboard at least.

Yes, and the claim about "Surface book device are configured to be as one unit" is an outright lie - we've tried attaching keyboards from other Surface Book laptops and everything works perfectly.
We ended up throwing away the fully functional laptop since it's effectively useless without the charging port on the keyboard - very sustainable, Microsoft. 🤦
Also does anyone have a surface book 3 working keyboard? Mine has water damage and I retached the screen as soon as that happened so it is safe, I just need a functional surface book keyboard 15" 1907.
Sad they feel a need to lie to customers to get them to buy again. But I won't be doing that. Microsoft, good luck with hardware in the future. I'll never buy another Microsoft PC or hardware piece.
If anyone out there has a Surfacebook 3 base with a non-working tablet, I will buy the base from you since the same base does work with other Surfacebook tablets. They just lie during customer support. It's a proven fact online. Email: ******@yahoo.com.
Also, did you know you can charge the tablet at the bottom where the screen attaches? Sorry you tossed the tablet. Prob had life in it still.
