Surface Pro 11 display colors are hi-viz and reversed on surface screen

Hello,

I have a Surface Pro 11 and on boot-up the screen is a hi-viz colorized negative image.

If I add a second monitor and set it to show there only, that monitor looks fine. Set it to extened, and the surface monitor will come back to normal.

If I lock the screen or it goes to sleep, upon wake-up the surface monitor will be bad, but the 2nd monitor will be okay.

Repeat the "show on 2 and then extended" and surface monitor comes back ok.

I have rebooted/restarted and searched/installed for any driver updates and firmware.

The attached image is from cell phone picture. Snip will show normal screen.

Also, Teams share will show the correct image to other members on the call.

    Hi BrianD,

I'm glad to know that your problem has been solved perfectly.

Reimaging is a tricky process, which is why we recommend that you contact the Surface technical support team through the above process.

If you have any problems with Surface in the future, feel free to post a new thread here.

Struggled with the exact same issue with Surface Pro 11

I don't want to take credit for the fix, so here is the original poster: https://www.reddit.com/r/Surface/comments/10hyt0l/screen_brightness_and_colour_accuracy_messed_up/

It worked by changing the monitor driver from "Surface calibrated panel" to Generic PNP monitor. Once installed it shows in device manager with a different name - Integrated Monitor (...) and works as a normal Surface screen should.

That is not a solution to solve this! I also did the reimaging, because this is intuitive and U do not need to contact all that stuff for this, and after some updates it started doing the same! ( with the display I mean) It is obvious that there is an unsolved problem and NOBODY knows the real answer! Shame to the tech entitled ones!

    Hi BrianD,

Thank you very much for the screenshot.

Have you made any changes in the Start menu - Settings - Accessibility - Contrast theme? If not, then the screen is clearly displaying the picture in the wrong way.

Can I assume that you have downloaded and installed drivers and firmware packages for Surface Pro 11:

Download Surface Pro 11th Edition Drivers and Firmware from Official Microsoft Download Center

But the problem remains? Considering that the external monitor does not display any anomalies when connected, and that in Teams you can share normal images with other members, this means that there are no failures at the system level.

So this is probably a screen hardware failure that needs to be handed over to the Surface technical support team for inspection and repair. I recommend connecting with Surface Live Support through the Surface App, which can help you create a service order:

Open the Surface App (usually built into your Surface device, or you can download it from the Microsoft Store if you don't have one) and follow the procedure below:

    1. Click "Help and Support" and then click "Get Help".
    2. Briefly describe your problem in the text box, such as "Surface Pro 11 screen displays abnormal color tones", and then press Enter.
    3. Click "Contact Support" at the bottom.
    4. Select "Technical Support" and click "Confirm".
    5. You will see "Chat support" or "phone support" options, please contact them during working hours, you will get one-to-one support services.

I wish you all the best.

    Best Regards,
