Hello, Keerthan Sivanesan!
Thanks for reaching back and we're sorry for the delayed response. As what you described, it looks like that a wired connection will allow your Dell monitor to have its touch functionality work. Can you tell us the model of your Dell monitor? Is it the C5518QT?
Also, what is the make and model of your Windows 10 laptop?
If you have the C5518QT, I saw an article here from HP's website: https://www.dell.com/support/article/en-hr/sln306549/c8618qt-and-c5518qt-monitor-troubleshooting-guide?lang=en

Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you purchase it.
It says there that:
Touch functionality follows the Input source and USB Pairing. i.e. if using HDMI 1 as Input the USB 1 has to be used as upstream port to achieve touchscreen functionality, USB 2 for HDMI 2 and so forth.
I am not very sure of what Dell meant with this. If this has something to do with wireless displays, have you plugged the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter's cable's HDMI end to the monitor's
HDMI 1 port and the USB end to the USB 1 portof the monitor? If that's what you did, it is possible that the touch functionality of the monitor only works with an HDMI cable.
You may want to check further with Dell Support on this regarding the touch feature on their monitor if it works wirelessly. You can also post it on the dedicated **Dell Community Forums**for further assistance.
We hope this helps you out.
Regards,
