Surface Book 2 Battery Wear

Okay so I've had my SB2 for a few months now and I've been using the device pretty heavily since first getting it. It's mostly on charge while doing gpu&cpu intensive tasks like gaming, photo editing and video editing/rendering. My problem here is that I'm getting vastly different information about my batteries from the battery report in pwrconfig and using a third party tool like Battery Bar. 

My Battery Bar states that Battery 1 has a 1.9% battery wear and my battery 2 (alarmingly) has a 44.1% wear!! 

I did a battery report (pwrconfig) after seeing this because quite frankly that's scary to see on a £2000 device thats less than 6-7 months old, after doing the report i'm a little confused -

The design capacity (on the left) stays pretty consistent however the actual charge capacity (middle column) is all over the place! I do have the issue with battery drain while gaming but only on really intensive games like witcher 3 (even on the "better performance" and not "best performance" battery profiles)

what is going on? should I try get a replacement? I love this device but im growing more and more concerned about the longevity of this thing

    If after running these commands we have concerns about the reports and the batteries, what is the procedure to find out what to do?  Where do we submit these reports?  Here in the community forums?  Do we need to open a ticket through Support?

    Also, are there guidelines on what we should be seeing in these reports to know if there is something that is non-conforming?  How can a consumer tell from these reports whether there is an issue other than by 'gut' feel?

    The issue isnt battery consumption its the actual wear and damage to the battery in such a short space of time, ive scheduled to have the unit sent back for a replacement anyway, thanks for your replies,

    Hi  KelvinLeeming,

    Thank you so much for providing those information. The battery consumption may vary, depending on the usage/time you keep using the device. The more intensive task we do on the device, the more the battery it consumes.

    In this case, we highly suggest to use the Battery Report in Windows 10 to get an accurate report.

    Hi Loyd,

    Thanks for the reply - I'll get this done.

    Oddly enough after a half discharge and recharge the batteries are reading a little bit better but still.

    because I did a fresh windows install just after making this post a lot of the information on these reports are missing?

    I've done what you needed anyway, if I need to wait a couple days and try again I can do?

    fortunately not as bad as initially thought but for my batteries to be down 11% after 31 cycles is still not right in the slightest, after Microsoft raving about how great the battery life is on these things it's worrying that after 6-7 months there's huge amounts of wear on both batteries.

    [Edit: at the time of doing these reports Windows is saying BOTH batteries are at 100%]

    Thank you for raising this concern to us. We appreciate your effort by using a third party app to check the battery status from your Surface and also running the battery report as shown above. I know that this was done, however, we may need more accurate details about the battery behavior and try performing the following commands stated below. 

    • To do the suggested option, go to the Start menu and type cmd, right click and select on run as administrator. Run these commands during a normal usage of your device to capture the most accurate report of what is happening to the device's battery. Kindly compile these data and provide the screenshots or the HTML links on this thread.

    ·         Powercfg /batteryreport

    ·         Powercfg /SleepStudy

    ·         Powercfg /energy

    Once we have reviewed each of the command results, we will then provide you the next options to do in the future.
