Hi All,

I am trying to figure out the best practice and architecture for a Windows Server 2016 with 50-60 RDP users.

This server will contain MSSQL Server, an ERP desktop application, and MSSQL Server.

In term of hardware, I am planning to have 128GB RAM and 4x2TB storage with Dual Intel Xeon E5.

My concern is the RDP users. Is this setup enough for 50-60 RDP users?

    Bonsoir,

I did an article that might help with this, configure-an-rds-deployment-standard-mode
All depend on the number of VMs you are going to set up, for a small structure -100 users

You can go on 3 VM
    Example:
    RDSBRK, RDSH01, RDS0H2
Best is 04 to include in the VM « Remote Desktop Services Gateway » and « Remote Desktop Web Access »

If you don't have a lot of resources, you can install it on a single server with Quick start mode, unfortunately you won't have redundancy
You will find the installation method in this link: configure-an-rds-deployment-on-a-single-server-quick-start

For the calculation of resources I generally use this rule:
80 remote users, which in our case:
    I assume that 5 applications will be used / user, that is: 64 MB X 5 = 320 MB
    80 User X 320 Mo = 25600 Mo
    25600 Mo + 4000 Mo (OS Windows 2016) = 29600 Mo
For processors, you will need 10 RDP sessions per CPU Core, 8 cores, 2X4 Cores.
I hope that answers your question

    Regards

    Hi @murniyanti

Here is a poster from Microsoft that shows considerations for the deployment
