Unable to receive SMS security code since Android 11 update

Hello, I have a Surface Duo (purchased in Sept 2020) and when it recently updated to Andriod 11 version, it now shows calls under Messaging as "call answered on other device" which makes me think that the update is considering my phone as two devices which may be why I'm no longer receiving security codes via SMS as I have been able to do prior to the recent update. I have no idea how to fix it and it is a major issue. Please help!

    I chatted with Verizon Tech team and they had me clear storage and cache for Messenger+, uninstall and reinstall Messenger+ (which is Verizon's messaging app). Even after that, I still couldn't receive security code SMS. Basically, Verizon told me that they don't support Surface Duo phone. So, I started using the Google Messaging app and now receive the security code SMS.

    I would say it's a Verizon Messaging App problem and that Verizon service does not recognize the Surface Duo as a standalone phone / device.

    I have the same problem. Verizon says there is no filter on it, and should contact Microsoft.

    I also have several other problems after the update, but can't seem to find answers for any of them.

    Hello abs_goodyear,

    We recommend you verify with the provider of the codes that they are sending it to the correct number, and then with your service provider to see if they are being blocked and were filtered as spam.
