Surface Duo 2 Bluetooth Issues

When connected to a Bluetooth audio device like my car or Surface Ear Buds I have the following problem:

Connects properly without issues. Listen to music or Audible for a few minutes and the audio stops. The audio doesn't pause, the Bluetooth doesn't disconnect but the sound just stops.

Disconnecting Bluetooth in audio device and surfaceduo2 and restarting helps but the problem will repeat. Makes BT unusable.

Anyone else have this problem??

Same Issue, The trends I have noticed.

It is worse outside, and get even worse when in my pocket

    • I don't have the issue on my Bose QC II, or my Hyphen II
    • My car stereo is hit or miss depending on placement of my phone
    • It is present on my Sony link buds and my Samsung buds live really bad/unusable (I miss using my ear buds...)

I have tried the following with no change

    • Adjusted Bluetooth power saving options.
    • Adjusted codec settings to prioritize connectivity over audio quality
    • toggled HD audio settings
    • reset network settings

Same with me - with Bluetooth earbuds in, every time I turned my head the signal cut out. Didn’t matter which earbuds I used. Had to return the duo 2 in the end as I use Bluetooth earbuds on my commute every day. If they fix it (and the widgets randomly disappearing for no reason) I’ll be back for duo 3, as in all other ways this was my perfect device.

I am confident this is an issue on Microsoft end. It may be caused by Verizon but Microsoft has to fix it. My wife's phone (Samsung Note 20) ran Android 11 - the same as my Duo 2 - and she had no problem with Bluetooth or viewing text videos or photos from iPhones. Now she has a Samsung Ultra S22 that runs on Android 12. Still no issues like I am having with the DUO 2. When will the next Duo 2 update come out and will it address the issue?

Really hoping the removal of the Messages+ app fixes the BT issues. I haven't tried earbuds but I can't listen to music through any of my BT speakers because I get dead air or a lot of music start and stop. Phone indicates music is still playing but I can hear nothing. Just purchased my phone in late March so all the updates are current.

*UPDATE* Not sure why but the removal of the Messages+ seems to have fixed my BT issues. Duo 2 now connects and more importantly plays the music through the BT speaker without interruption. Thanks for the advice.

*2nd UPDATE* Back to square one. I was having an issue with receiving video texts from iPhone users (their videos would show up in my inbox as an image and an unplayable audio file). I contacted Verizon and they indicated that my Duo 2 was missing some software that it needed in order to play those videos. They installed the missing item and it corrected the video message problem but my bluetooth issue started all over again (can't connect to vehicle, speakers, etc.). Reconnected to Verizon and told them of the issue and they suggested the only fix was a return to factory settings which was done late yesterday. I still cannot connect to some bluetooth devices and I can know longer receive video texts from iPhone users. This is getting ridiculous. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
