This suddenly popped up out of nowhere and have had to force-shut down my laptop. I had to turn on airplane mode because it always happens when connected to the internet. What is this and what should I do?

    Hello, Axion.75.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community!

Thank you for the images you have provided.

I noticed that your Surface Laptop 7 is on a system update screen, so obviously, this is a real update. Please allow me to share with you the update history of your Surface Laptop 7:

You don't have to worry about the current update screen, which doesn't cause any problems with your device. The update system helps the device to fix some known issues and maintain the performance of the device. At the end of the update, the screen will automatically close and reboot your device. Just wait patiently for the process to finish.

Thank you for your understanding and support of Surface products.

Please don't hesitate to let me know if you experience any issues with your device in the future.

    Best Regards.
