Where did my Bing homepage preferences (gear) icon go?

You know. The one just to the right of the Microsoft rewards icon on the bing.com homepage? It was missing until I cleared all histories on the Privacy tab on my Microsoft account page. Can anyone help me understand this so I can avoid accidently disappearing my Bing.com homepage preferences icon again?

    Hello Chris,

    Sometimes, due to the a lot of cache any web pages didn't completely load. We recommend to clear your browsing history always to avoid this issue. It will also depend on type of browsers that you are using if it's up-to-date or not. We encourage you as well, to ensure that you are always using the latest version of your browsers.

    If you will encounter the same issue again, here are the steps on how to manage your toolbar settings.

    Hi Ernie ... Thanks for your reply! Yes, clearing my Microsoft Account Privacy tab history(s) restored my Bing homepage preferences icon. But as feedback, I think this issue should still be considered a bug and fixed in a future update of Bing/Edge/Windows. BTW, I think I first tried to use the Edge>Settings>Clear Browsing Data method to clear my browsing history, and this did not restore my Bing.com preferences icon. But I'm a bit fuzzy on this.
