This error message appears on my iPad edge app whenever I try to perform a search using bing search engine.

I connect to the internet using my cellular network provider.

If I change edge app search engine to Google engine, searches are performed without any issues.

I discovered that this problem disappears when I turn on my VPN. So, when my VPN is on, bing engine searches are performed without any issues.

Also, problem disappears when I connect to the internet through wifi network in which case I can perform searches with vpn both off and on.

I tried reinstalling edge app, clearing cache and rebooting my iPad but nothing fixes the problem.

    Hi Nedjo,

I'm Ahmed and I am here & happy to help.

I apologize for the issue you are experiencing. Please be assured that I will do my best to provide a satisfactory response and assist you with resolving the problem.

It might be the DNS server is down.

The DNS server is responsible for resolving the domain name into an IP address, and if it’s not working properly, you’ll see the error message. You can try changing your network adapter settings to use a different DNS server like:

Select Use the following DNS Server Addresses

    Preferred DNS Server - 8.8.8.8

    Alternate DNS Server - 88.4.4

You can also try adding the site’s IP address to your hosts file, which is a way of manually mapping a domain name to an IP address on your device.

As you can see it's also for the WiFi only...And unfortunately, it's not possible for cellular network providers.
