Is There a Way to Switch Back to the Previous Version of Copilot?

I’m really disappointed with the latest update to Copilot. It seems like a step backward in many ways. First of all, it erased some of my previous conversations, which is frustrating, especially considering I had important information saved in there. What’s even more confusing is that it deleted all the images I generated through the app, including those I had already downloaded. How is it even possible for the app to delete things already saved in my gallery?

The new interface is also much harder to navigate. It takes several clicks just to review your history, and I find that incredibly inefficient. This update also seems to have fewer features than the previous version. For example, I can no longer resize images or experiment with different art styles, which were features I really enjoyed and used regularly.

To top it all off, the responses are short and often inaccurate, which really impacts the overall experience. The previous version was far more intuitive, feature-rich, and responsive. Overall, I much preferred the older version. I hope these issues are addressed quickly, as this new update is a major downgrade.

I HAVE BEEN POSTING SINCE YOU CHANGED THE COMPLETE LOOK OF COPILOT LAST YEAR! MOST OF YOUR USERS HATE THE LOOK, THE RESPONSES, AND IT IS NOT A SYNC PROBLEM, EVERYONE LOST ALL OF THEIR PREVIOUS CHATS, IMAGES, EVERYTHING!

THE NEW VERSION LOOKS LIKE A CHILD CREATED IT AND WE ARE PAYING FOR COPILOT PROFESSIONAL VERSION! I ALONG WITH MILLIONS OF USERS WANT EVERYTHING TO LOOK EXACTLY AS IT DID ON THE ORIGINAL VERSION. THE HORIZONTAL IMAGES MOVING ACROSS THE SCREEN. WHEN YOU ARE CREATING AN IMAGE, 4 DIFFERENT OPTIONS AND THEN THE ABILITY TO OPEN THE IMAGE AND TRY SEVERAL DIFFERENT FILTERS THAT IT ACTUALLY CHANGES THE IMAGE AND THEN DOWNLOAD EACH VARIATION! ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING ABOUT THE ORIGINAL COPILOT WAS PERFECT! THE ONLY UPDATE MICROSOFT SHOULD HAVE DONE IS JUST IMPROVING THE RESPONSES! SINCE WE HAVE BEEN PAYING FOR THE PRO VERSION, YOU SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO JUST REMOVE ALL OF OUR WORK OVER THE LAST YEAR!

PLEASE MAKE SOMEONE AT MICROSOFT LISTEN TO IT'S USERS! THIS IS NOT WHAT WE WANTED, MAYBE JUST WHAT AN EMPLOYEE OF MICROSOFT CAME UP WITH. IT LOOKS LIKE THE MOST GENERIC AI OUT THERE AND IT LOOKED LIKE THE BEST BEFORE!

    Hello, Luigi Perez Loyola

Welcome to posting in the Microsoft Community.

Thank you for your willingness to share in detail your experiences and frustrations with Copilot! From your description, we fully understand the disappointment and inconvenience this update has caused you, especially when important information you have previously stored, images you have generated, and familiar features are affected, which can be frustrating. As Copilot users ourselves, we understand this feeling and are sorry to hear that this has happened to you.

There is one important piece of information that we would like to clarify for you: the problems you mentioned with conversation logs and missing pictures are not really related to Copilot's client-side updates, but are more likely due to server-side synchronization with your account. The server plays a central role in supporting Copilot's data storage and content generation process, and such changes may be due to system design adjustments or account synchronization issues.

Regarding the interface becoming more complex and missing functionality, this may be some trade-offs made by the development team when optimizing the architecture or redesigning the functionality. The new version may not be able to restore all the original features in a short period of time, such as resizing images or trying different art styles, which may not have been completely removed, but may have been temporarily taken down for optimization.

In addition, regarding what you mentioned about Copilot Copilot being an AI system after the update, the accuracy of its answers is affected by the server and the algorithm model, which may be partly due to server logic adjustments. You can also try to optimize your feedback to improve your experience by specifying the question in your session or by updating your prompts.

We strongly encourage you to use Copilot's built-in feedback channels (usually found in the Settings or Help menus under the “Feedback” button) to express your opinions and suggestions. User feedback is a key driver of product improvement, and your detailed descriptions and suggestions are very helpful to the development team in understanding what users really want. Through your feedback, the development team can identify problems and make adjustments faster, especially for users like you who have in-depth habits of using the features, your feedback will help the team to optimize the direction of the team.

Every major tool upgrade goes through a process of initial tweaks to incremental improvements, and while these changes may cause discomfort in the short term, they are often designed to support longer-term optimization and feature expansion. Experience flaws along the way, though, do require users and teams to push for refinement. Your suggestions are critical. Thank you for your patience in expressing these experiences, and we sincerely hope that these issues can be resolved as soon as possible so that Copilot can once again be a convenient tool for you to use! If you have any other concerns or questions, please feel free to let us know and we'll be happy to discuss and help you!

    Best Regards,
