Can't access Copilot website or app from any device

Hi,

I am unable to access https://copilot.microsoft.com or the Copilot app. Bing.com also doesn't work.

I have tried from macOS Sonoma 14.4, and iOS 17.4.1 in both Safari, Google Chrome, and MS Edge with the same result being experienced.

When trying to dig copilot.microsoft.com I get NXDOMAIN.

When trying to dig bing.com I get NXDOMAIN.

When trying to dig Microsoft.com I get NOERROR.

This is telling me the issue is specifically with the Copilot domain.

I have turned off all network filtering capabilities such as DNS filtering, proxies, VPN's with no success.

Any ideas what's going on here?

Hello, I have the same problem,

I did not get the same problems from my smartphone, only on my Windows PC (likely by using different protocols). I disabled IPv6 on my Network Adapter and the problem was gone so if you don't rely on IPv6 you can hotfix it by disabling it.

I will research about it and if I get a solution other than disabling a protocol I will update on this thread.

The problem might reside on ROUTER/ISP when translating IPv6 DNS on azure domain.

I sumbled upon OD730433 regarding OneDrive problems (in france it seems, but that they could also have changed on America Servers) stating about Azure DNS changes implemented by Microsoft that shares the same solution I noticed it worked.

    Solution:

    1. From the Windows Start menu, proceed to “View network connections.”
    2. Identify the network connection you're using, right click and select “Properties.”
    3. Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).
    4. Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 and select “Properties”.
    5. Select “Use the following DNS server addresses”.
    6. Under “Preferred DNS server” input “8.8.8.8”.
    7. Press the “OK” button.

    ...

***Root cause:***A recent service change to upgrade Azure Domain Name System (DNS) compatibility resulted in impact.

***Next steps:***Microsoft are reviewing their Azure DNS compatibility service change processes so they can better identify similar issues during our testing and development cycles and avoid comparable impact in the future.

    Best regards.

    Yes.

I’ve also tried Quad9, and Google DNS.

Your ISP seems to have an issue.

Did you try changing the DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 1.1.2.2?
