how to send microsoft rewards points to someone

Many moons ago, you could have shared points between family members, who had a Microsoft (i.e. Outlook, Hotmail, Skype, ...) accounts. That feature was removed due to people abusing it, I assume. As one could have had multiple accounts and earn points across them, then share them to their main account. There are tales of such behaviours, if you look around the forums.

That being said, the only method to allow others to use your points is to redeem them in form of a gift card and send the gift card to them. I sometimes send my brother an Xbox Ultimate subscription, which he can use when he hadn't been able to keep his streak going due to work or other responsibilities taking over than gathering points.

I can understand your need, but unfortunately I'm afraid it's not possible.

Microsoft Rewards is a free program that rewards you for the work you do every day, and it's included in your Microsoft account. Therefore, the credit line is tied to a Microsoft account. Points in your Microsoft account can only be used if you are logged in to that account. Because this is a free, account-tied point, and to protect the security of your account, Microsoft Rewards does not support direct transfer of points.

If you're having trouble redeeming or using your Rewards points, I actually recommend reporting your needs directly to Microsoft Rewards Support:
