I had almost 10,000 rewards points. one day I logged in and they were all gone. no explanation, no nothing. has this happened to anyone else? I wrote to Microsoft and got no return answer. my question is will this happen again before I waste my time trying to earn more points? thanks for anyone's thoughts.

I finally got a reply to my inquiry to Microsoft and they told me I spent 12.400 point on the Select 3 ON Feb 3rd. well, I did not that is what I was doing. I thought I was playing a game to win more points not spending points! I guess it is one of their ways of tricking people into thinking they are doing one thing and they are doing something else. oh well a lesson learned for this old fart. my granddaughter told me I should not have been paying these games anyway.

I'm sorry to hear that you accidentally spent your points on something you didn't intend to. It can be easy to misunderstand the rules and mechanics of certain games or promotions, especially if the information isn't presented clearly.

To avoid similar situations in the future, consider the following tips when participating in rewards programs or playing games:

    1. Read the rules and instructions: Always take the time to read the rules, instructions, or terms and conditions before participating in any game or promotion. This will help you understand how it works and what you're agreeing to.
    2. Look for confirmations: When making a purchase or redeeming points, look for a confirmation message or prompt that explicitly states what you're spending your points on. If you're unsure, it's better to double-check than accidentally spend your points on something you didn't intend.
    3. Track your points balance: Regularly monitor your rewards points balance and transaction history to ensure you're aware of any changes or redemptions you might not have intended.
    4. Ask for assistance: If you're unsure about how a particular game or promotion works, reach out to customer support or seek advice from friends or family members who may have experience with the rewards program.
    5. Set limits: If you're concerned about accidentally spending points or making unintended purchases, consider setting personal limits on how much time or how many points you're willing to spend on games or promotions.

Learning from this experience can help you make more informed decisions in the future and potentially prevent similar issues from occurring. It's also essential to remember that it's okay to enjoy games and rewards programs in moderation, as long as you're aware of the rules and potential risks.

    Hey there, Gillilan Melvin,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

It's unfortunate to hear that you've lost your Microsoft Rewards points without any explanation. There could be several reasons for losing Microsoft Rewards points unexpectedly:

    1. Account inactivity: If you haven't used your Microsoft account for a certain period, the Rewards points may expire due to inactivity.
    2. Violation of terms and conditions: If Microsoft determines that you have violated their Rewards program terms and conditions, they may remove points from your account.
    3. Technical issues: Occasionally, technical issues or system errors might cause your Rewards points to appear missing temporarily.
    4. Expired points: Some promotions or offers may have an expiration date for the points you've earned through them. Be sure to check the specific terms for each offer.

Since you've already contacted Microsoft and received no response, you might want to try reaching out to them again through a different channel, such as official social media accounts. (Since the Rewards team's investigation may take some time, they might not respond to you immediately. Please be patient and wait for their reply.)

Regarding whether this will happen again, it's hard to predict. However, to minimize the risk, make sure to stay active in the Rewards program, follow the terms and conditions and redeem your points before they expire (if applicable). It's always a good idea to keep track of your points and take screenshots as evidence if any issue arises in the future.

Please note that this is just a summary of some key points. The full Microsoft Rewards terms and conditions can be found on the Microsoft Rewards website or by visiting this link: Microsoft Services Agreement

Make sure to read and understand the complete terms and conditions to ensure you are following the program's rules and not risking losing your earned points.

If you have already made sure that you have strictly followed the Rewards guidelines, then you can patiently wait for the Rewards team to investigate and provide you with a response.

I wish you the best of luck in resolving the issue with your missing Rewards points.

Have a nice day and stay safe!

    Best regards,

Olivia | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
