I can't set bing daily image as home and lock screen wallpaper in android 14 cell phone

Hi,

I have just purchased Samsung Galaxy A35 and installed Microsoft Bing Search app which I have been using in my previous phone (Xiaomi Redmi Note 8). Amongst other features, I really liked the automated change of both home and lock screen wallpaper by using the bing daily image. But the option to do so is not present in my new phone. I have tried to clear both cache and data, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but nothing seems to work. Note that I can set manually a specific image as home and/or lock screen wallpaper.

    Hi,

It will change everyday I believe.

The other sureshot option you have is to use Microsoft Launcher. I am Microsoft Launcher which changes the wallpaper everyday.

Thank you very much but is it going to automatically change every day? I thought it sets only the current image as wallpaper...

    Hi,

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Apologies for any inconvenience you are experiencing. I am happy to help you today.

Please open the Bing app and select the 9 rectangle menu which shows all mini apps.

    In the same, choose Wallpaper.

You would see a Wallpaper open.

Click the Phone icon and choose Daily Image > Home Screen and Lock screen.

Hope that helps, and rely on us for any further inquiries. All the best.

Thank you for the reply. Sadly, I see the same behaviour. I also see that this broke sometime six months ago. There is nothing wrong with your phone.

Here is a workaround which might help(See comment 1)

Unfortunately it doesn't change automatically as I was afraid of. So any other recommendations apart from using Microsoft Launcher app which to be honest I don't really like? Could someone please tell me if it is a phone specific problem, android version specific problem or just a glitch in app which will be fixed in future updates? Do the rest of you still have the option to set the wallpaper to change automatically?
