Bing Chat with Copilot vs Standalone Copilot App vs Copilot Edge Sidebar

As I researched about the three variety of Copilot Apps, I am still confused why there are different types of copilot apps.

This is what I understand:

  1. Bing Chat with Copilot As far as I know, Bing is Microsoft's search engine and they integrate Copilot inside Bing. To access Copilot, you need to go first to Bing then access Copilot there.
  2. Standalone Copilot This is a standalone app just like ChatGPT. You can access it via browser as webapp or you can download it in playstore as a mobile app.
  3. Copilot Edge Sidebar This is the same with Bing Chat with Copilot but it resides inside Edge browser.

I also understand that they have variety of Copilots due to different methods of accessibility (PC & phone).

My questions:

  1. Is/Are there benefits to use one over the others and vice versa?
  2. Is the one over the others give better results?
  3. Do prompts history sync across different Copilots? I experienced that they do not. So are there any plans that they will be in synced together?
  4. Is there a plan to add a Delete All Prompts button to all variety of Copilots? Because I have to delete them 1 by 1.

    1. Whether using Bing Chat with Copilot is better than the standalone Copilot app or the Copilot Edge sidebar depends on your personal preferences and usage scenarios. Bing Chat with Copilot lets you interact with Copilot directly in your browser, which may be more convenient for those who need to search for and get tips. Bing Chat with Copilot allows you to interact with Copilot directly in your browser, which may be more convenient for those who need to search and get tips. The standalone Copilot app and the Copilot Edge sidebar provide a more focused interface, allowing you to concentrate on your conversation with Copilot.
    2. Whether or not you would be better off with a Copilot depends on your personal preferences and needs.

    4. Regarding adding the "Delete All Tips" button to all types of Copilot is a Microsoft developer's responsibility and research, I'm sorry that I don't have a direct channel to confirm this information for you, but I will propose this idea to the Microsoft developers through an internal channel, and I also suggest that you can propose your request to the developers by clicking on the right hand side of the Bing homepage.     You said in bullet number 3 that chat history is interoperable.

    Does it mean that they are synced across different variety of copilots?

    But what I actually experienced is that when I prompted in Copilot Edge Sidebar,

    my chats history in Bing Chat with Copilot were different from Copilot Edge Sidebar.

    For example,

    Copilot Edge Sidebar prompts:

    1. what is interoperable
    2. how to change date and time in windows 10

    Bing Chat with Copilot prompts:

    1. how to center text
    2. how to change background color

    They are different and I have to delete them 1 by 1 in Bing Chat with Copilot and Copilot Edge Sidebar which is tedious to do so.

    My expected output should be like this:

    Copilot Edge Sidebar prompts:

    1. what is interoperable
    2. how to change date and time in windows 10
    3. how to center text
    4. how to change background color

    Bing Chat with Copilot prompts:

    1. what is interoperable
    2. how to change date and time in windows 10
    3. how to center text
    4. how to change background color

    As you said, the chats you see in the Bing Chat with and Copilot Edge sidebar are different because they are synchronised by account, so are you logged into the same account in Edge browser, Bing, and standalone Copilot?

    If you are logged into the same account, then this issue may need to be reconfirmed and tested by the developers, and it is recommended that you bring your findings to the attention of the developers via the three banners in the top right corner of the Bing homepage and selecting 'Feedback', as this is likely to help bring a better experience to a wider range of users!

    Can I ask, seeing as Ask a new question doesn't work' why Copilot has deleted images and says they go against guide lines when it was

    'A cat winking'

    ' A cat with one eye closed' and ones '

    'realistic small catratbat'

    'a person surrounded by large, vibrant red and white flowers. The person has light-colored hair that blends with the white flowers around them. They are wearing a shiny necklace with gemstones.'

    Whats WRONG with these images ?
