Microsoft Cash Back Rewards is a BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM

Once again, Microsoft is holding my money.

I have attempted to resolve this for Weeks and ............. nothing! Requested help via the cashback rewards site... 2 replies asking for info then.... crickets! I have attempted to redeem my AVAILABLE cash back in excess of 30 times on multiple days via my desktop and my App and....... spins and spins. I have attempted to use if on amazon does not go through IT IS AVAILABLE but Microsoft is holding it and wont release it !!!!

EVERY time I try to redeem my funds for SOME reason Microsoft finds a way to keep MY Money.

All I can say, is that the reward seems to be a bait and switch scam Microsoft is probably getting paid by the companies that supposedly offer a cashback reward. Microsoft has the pop-up come up, which is basically an advertisement for a specific company, and you base your decision to buy the item Via that company, based on the SOLICITATION from Microsoft. We the stupid consumers think that we’re getting a Decrease in price by “activating the reward“ we purchased the item instead of going elsewhere, because of a pop-up we got via Bing and MicrosoftThis is completely unethical to receive a pop up , promising a specific cashback reward buying the item based on getting that pop up from Microsoft, and then never getting the reward or at the very least a resolution from a Microsoft representative or the ability to call them. Of course there is no phone number! I have reached out to Microsoft rewards support, Microsoft escalation support AND the CEO himself NOTHING !

Never had this issue. Been using it since Bing Rebates. Able to cash out absolutely fine. Maybe try a different browser or incognito mode.

    Dear jennifer drocco

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.

Microsoft cashback has higher requirements on the user's system environment because it involves account cashback.

Therefore, we suggest you to check the following contents step by step.

    1. Use a clean network environment.

Please do not use VPN proxy type network.

You can press WIN+R and type CONTROL>Uninstall

Program>Check if there is a third-party VPN proxy network such as Nord VPN, Express VPN, etc. This will cause the system to detect abnormalities in your current network environment, and thus unable to send cashback requests.

    1. Use a different browser.

You can try to use EDGE's privacy mode to create a cashback request.

Download EDGE Beta version to isolate some environmental abnormalities caused by EDGE browser.

Jennifer, thank you for all the work you did in this matter. I am truly surprised that Microsoft is allowed to do this, say there is a cash back offer on a purchase, in my case something on eBay and then later say it is not a authorized purchase for the cash back. It seems to me that Microsoft and eBay are in cahoots on this issue. With Microsoft alerting people to the cash back it help eBay make a sale. Which has small business out there trying to make a living, to which I am one of them. But I have worked on eBay for enough time to have some concerns about their practices as well, they charge way too much in their fees, they keep my money from my sales and then try and get more money from me to say they can give it to me faster if I pay more money to them. Microsoft has questionable practices as well, they don't offer a superior product, instead I heard their business plan was to make you need them, this is how they get more business from you.

I did open a One banking account that I like, somehow got connected to Walmart and cash back with I like and they have a clear representation of what you will get back, no b.s.

I bought a MacIntosh computer because I am sick of Microsoft and yet, I updated my dad's laptop after he passed so I will still have Microsoft and I have 365 which I love my Spreadsheets, there is nothing like them as a tax professional, accountant minded person.
