Safe Search

Hi, can anyone please, please, please tell me how to permanently switch off safe search.

Yes, I know their are lots of threads of how to do this, but unfortunately, all the responses fail to take into account that when you enter settings, and then click either safe search or more, the page that appears does not give you the option to change from Strict, Moderate or Off.

By some stroke of luck and by pressing, god only knows how many different links, the correct options eventually appear. This took the best part of an hour on day 1, over 2 hours day two and this is day 3, half an hour so far.

After managing to switch it off, and save the setting, it is set to strict the next day. I even left the browser open last night, but it still changed to Strict.

Please for the love of god can Bing or anyone, please tell me how to do it.

Yes I've updated windows, and no I don't want to go through the rigmarole of closing my account, opening a new one, or in private browsing. This is my personal computer, no one else uses it, and all I want to do is turn my PC on and access the web, to whatever site I want.

Please can somebody help?

The newest microsoft updates changed many users global search settings to moderate or strict. No matter how many times you turn off the filters in Bing, Google, etc, the computer global settings override these settings and keep the filters on strict or moderate.

To change this setting, push on windows key and I on your keyboard from your administrator account, and then click on search. Change the safesearch setting to off. Close the window. This will not change the global setting until you re-start your computer. I learned that from experience. So do a re-start and check this setting is still off after the re-start.

This worked for me after many days and frustrated hours, including sending nasty feedback to Bing, about my searches being filtered. Now my search results are back to what I had before the Windows Update.

    Hi, Christopher76,

    1. Have you tried clearing browser cache including History then reset SafeSearch to determine if it still exhibits this behavior?
    2. Some countries control this particular feature and it cannot be changed.
    3. If using Family Groups, this may be set by a parent and only they can change the setting.

    4.  Contact Microsoft Support.
