Windows 10 recovery mode boot

HI,

Forcibly shut down the computer by holding down the power button...

Then restart the machine...

At the first sign of windows, or immediately after the POST screen blinks off... Forcibly shutdown again...

For a total of three forced shutdowns... the next restart let it try to boot...

If this doesn't work, forcibly shutdown only twice, and then let it try to boot...

To activate the windows 10 "windows recovery mode", you must interrupt the windows startup sequence using the computer power button.  You do this by pressing and holding the computer power button when you first see the windows logo.  Wait for the computer to power off and then release the button. Then, press the power button again to restart. You repeat this until you see a screen indication that the recovery mode has initiated, or (it has been reported) at least 3 times.

I am happy to report that, inadvertently, discovered that I did have a Recovery Image Partition that was installed by my laptop's manufacturer. Using it, I was able to reinstall Windows 7. 

With all that back up and running, I will now dive back into Window 10.

My computer is bricked due to the recent Windows 10 update. 

I was reading through the forums and a Windows Tech said to:

If you don’t have installation media, use the power button to restart your computer three times. This will start the Windows recovery environment.

That statement can be interpreted in different ways and I think I've tried every variation I can think of including, restarting my computer 3x in a row and also hitting my power button 3x during boot up. 

Does anyone have any definitive answer?

If the above does not work.

I assume that you did not make your own recovery image partition?

Do you have access to a Windows 10 DVD? Or a Windows 10 system repair disk?

If you do, boot from either and when you have entered your country and keyboard settings, choose repair my computer and attempt the choices there.

I tried to follow you instructions to the letter. After I couldn't get it to work, I also tried some variations.

Just so we can be precise, can describe how I know when the POST screen has ended?
