How to change the default installation folder for apps in Windows 11?

I have limited space on my C: drive and I want to change the installation folder for apps to D:

    Another option to consider would be to move your Documents folder to your secondary drives. You would have to point windows to that new location. I tend to use this, very helpful when doing a total clean install, all my data is safely stored on D: with only the OS and Programs installed on C:

    Settings>System>Storage>Where new content is saved.

    Sumit's answer helps for apps installed from the Store only.

    Desktop apps with their own installers must support the ability to be installed elsewhere and not every installer gives the option. 🙁
