I am trying to play Hogwarts Legacy on Steam. I have verified I meet the requirements to play the game. I don't receive an error message, the game just closes about 10 seconds after launching without any screens appearing.

Based on the error information you provided in Event Viewer, it is related to a memory exception, and you can try the following steps.
1. Memory Diagnostic
Win + Q to open the search box, type "MdSched", press Enter to open the program, select "Restart now and check for problems(recommended)", then restart the system and start memory diagnosis.
2. Automatic virtual memory management
Win + R to open "Run", type "sysdm.cpl", press Enter to open 'System Properties"> "Advanced" tab > "Performance" > "Settings"> "Advanced" tab"> "Virtual memory"> "Change", check "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives", and press Enter to confirm.
Then you mentioned that the exception first appeared on the 7th, and based on the Windows Update history you provided, you installed the update as shown below on the same day, so it is also possible that the update caused your current trouble. You can uninstall the update. "Win" logo key + "Q", enter "control" to open "Control Panel" (viewed by Category*) >* Programs > "Programs and Features" > "View installed updates", sort by date, select to uninstall recent updates, restart.
This has been going on since the 7th.

Hello Tuba Runner,
Good to see you in Microsoft Community.
Did this occur recently, or has it been going on for a while? If it was recent, did you have any special actions (such as installing system updates*,* hardware changes*, etc.*) before that?
Please check Event Viewer to see if there are any error messages at the same time that you launch the game? Win + Q to open the search box, type 'eventvwr', press Enter to open Event Viewer*, and see whether there are any errors in* Application tab of the Windows Logs*.*
Then check the Windows Update history. Win + R to open "Run", type "ms-settings:windowsupdate-history" and press Enter*, then check the recently installed updates, please take a screenshot of it, and include it in the next reply to help me understand your situation better.*
If the problem occurred after you install Windows system updates, you can uninstall the most recent update first and see if it works. "Win" logo key + "Q", enter "control" to open "Control Panel" (viewed by Category*) >* Programs > "Programs and Features" > "View installed updates", sort by date, select to uninstall recent updates, restart.
If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Best Regards,
