Windows 11: Run dialog box should follow suit with the Start Menu button

Hi all,

When I start Run dialog box, it always starts from the left bottom corner just above the Task Bar.

This was a normal behavior, to me at least, because Windows Start Menu button, prior to Windows 11, was always located on the left end of the Task Bar.

Now when you install Windows 11, the Start Menu button is located close to the middle of the Task Bar by default. Therefore, the Run dialog box should open right above the Start Menu button close to the middle of Task Bar, too.

Since Start Menu button is floating as you open apps, Run dialog box should align with the Start Menu button as well.

If a user moves the Start Menu button to the left by a registry tweak, Run dialog box should open at the left, too.

This is a suggestion and the following link is for the feedback hub report in case anyone would like to upvote.

Suat, moving the Start to the left is no longer

a registry hack, it's in the Taskbar Settings now.

Thank you CrazyKats for the reminder.

My point is, I open Start Menu and it opens above the Start Menu button where Start Menu button is located. Left or Center of Task Bar.

I open Task Manager. Task Manager opens where I had dragged it before. Task Manager is free to move and it stays where it is moved to. I didn't check how it behaves between reboots.

I open Run dialog box. It opens at the left bottom corner above the Task Bar. I drag it somewhere else. A second later I re-open it. It opens again at the left bottom corner above the Task Bar.

This no no big deal by the way.

I put the subject forward here for the sake of Windows behavioral consistency.

    Kind regards
