How Do I get Windows 10 Phone Link to Integrate Android Apps on My Phone

I saw an article from several years ago about Integrating Android Apps on my phone using Windows 10 Phone Link. Does this feature work with only Samsing phones and do I need to opt in Windows Insider Program and opt in the Release Preview ring to avoid testing full Windows 10 builds? Thanks

Hi James,

The fact that your phone's apps are not showing up in Phone Link is actually due to the fact that your phone doesn't support this feature. As I said in my previous reply, although you could download Phone Link apps for Android phones that meet the requirements, there are some specific features that require a supported phone model. The example I gave was the Instant Hotspot feature, and the feature you are trying to implement is actually the "Phone Screen" feature. We have a dedicated article on this feature, and as you can see it requires a supported Android device.

We fully understand the inconvenience the issue has caused and that the current situation can be frustrating. However, Phone Link is still in the testing and promotion stage, and after that, the supported features for specific phones should be pushed to other models of phones, if you have any ideas and suggestions, you are welcome to provide feedback.

On your Android device:

  1. Open the****Link to Windows app.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Select the Provide Feedback option.

On your PC:

  1. In the Phone Link app, select Settings > Feedback & Community.
  2. Fill out the form with as much detail as you can provide, and then submit it.

Your understanding is highly appreciated. Please feel free to post back if you need further assistance.

    Hello James,

Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting to the community.

The Phone Link app currently supports not only Samsung phones, but also some Android phones that meet the requirements. And you don't need to join the Windows Insider Program to use this feature. You can set up the Phone Link app even in the original Windows 10.

According to the following official website article, the Phone Link App experience currently supports the HONOR Magic4 Pro in addition to Samsung as a supported device, you can click the following link for more detailed information.

Also, according to the following article, the Phone Link app requires the following to work:

    • A PC running Windows 10 (with the May 2019 Update or later) or Windows 11.
    • An Android device running Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later.****
    • Your phone and your PC both need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

As you can see, phones that meet the above criteria can also download the Phone Link app from Google Play and connect to your computer. However, it should be noted that although other Android devices can use the Phone Link app, not all features are available. Some features are still only supported by certain phone models. For example, the Instant Hotspot feature. This feature is not only limited to cell phones, but also to computer models and features.

Hope you are keeping safe and well.  Please feel free to post back if you need further assistance.

    Sincerely
