vEthernet (Default Switch)

Accidently deleted the vEthernet (Default Switch) from my network connections, not realizing this was used by the Hyper-V installs.

The current host is Windows 22000.652, the clients are 22616.1.

is there any way to recreate the switch without affecting the Hyper-V installs?

    Hi vienna10,

    Yes there is

Go to Hyper-V settings for that install in Hyper-V manager/app, then use add hardware and make a new network connection, if the old one is still listed you can remove it.

I am at work at the moment but will be home in 2-3 hours so I will double check if you haven't got it working by then.

    This may help

Hi Bryce. Added a new external network connection. This restored the vEthernet (Default Switch). The simple guide in the first link was great, much better than the ones I found

    Thanks again

    Hi vienna,

You got me on this one, have you tried the Dism command:

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Worth a try prior to doing a repair install.

    Regards,
