Never Combine Taskbar Option Titles Cut Off

Windows Specifications

Windows 11 Enterprise 23H2 Build 22631.2199

With the new option, "Never combine taskbar buttons and hide labels" and "Never Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels on other taskbars", the features work, however the titles for each application cut off and does not show the full title. This is despite having more than enough room on my taskbar. Is anyone else experiencing this?

An example of this is on the tab while I am creating this post, the title of the tab is "Create a new question or start a discussion". On my taskbar, instead of showing the full title, Next to the Edge Icon I see "Create a new question o".

I want to UNGROUP the buttons, but HIDE the labels. I don't understand why Microsoft does this kind of thing. First, they remove something important, then they add only half an option. Combining buttons is TERRIBLE, and displaying these giant labels filling the taskbar is also terrible. Why can't we have the best of both worlds?

I'd like to either be able to have a choice on what the title is or choose the length of it. It's an option so unless you turn it on when it comes to the main build you might not even notice it.

Thank you for your response Chandy. I will submit the feedback to Microsoft via the feedback hub. I can't check for updates in the settings, however this is a known issue and can be remediated by typing USOClient StartInteractiveScan in command prompt as an administrator. I mainly wanted to see if others are experiencing this same issue.

    Thank you,

    Hello,

Seems like they may have a limit on the length of the title that is displayed.

We just need to know what the length limit is. 😎

Personally, I don't want any title displayed in the taskbar. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Hello, GarageCamper

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I understand your concern. The “Never Combine Taskbar Option” feature in Windows 11 Enterprise 23H2 Build 22631.2199 is designed to ungroup and show labels for apps. However, it seems you’re experiencing an issue where the titles for each application are being cut off, despite there being enough room on your taskbar.

This could be a bug or an unintended behavior of the feature. I recommend reporting this issue through the Feedback Hubapp on your Windows 11 device. This will allow Microsoft to investigate and potentially provide a fix in future updates.

In the meantime, you might want to check for any available updates for your system as Microsoft frequently releases updates to fix known issues. You can do this by going to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates. Assuming it is already up to date, please keep it updated and wait patiently for the next fix.

    Best regards,

    Chandy |Microsoft Community Support Specialist
