I found the cause of this issue and how to fix it. I was using custom resolution utility to set my refresh rate from 60 hz to 96 hz and it works absolutely perfectly except it crashes the laptop lid when closing. I had to reset the screen to it's default refresh rate profile things which means I can only use it at 60 hz. Do you know how I could use 96 hz without crashing the laptop when closing the lid? Until then, I will just leave the lid open. 60 hz only is bad.
laptop lid closing completely crashes.
Hello. A few weeks ago, my computer started doing this extremely annoying thing. When I close my lid, the laptop completely crashes and shows absolutely no signs of life at all. I have to force shut down to use it again. I have all my power settings so that the computer should never go to sleep or shut down unless I make it. Closing the lid should do nothing. I am using a hp pavilion 15-ec0003na and am running windows 11 22000.120. This issue was also happening in the previous build. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

2021-08-08T11:09:29+00:00 Thanks but that did not work. I have reported. You asked me to check for display driver updates but I do not think it is just the display. Everything stops. My keyboard stops working, my mouse stops etc.
