2 versions are listed in Settings>About Edge.  This does not clarify which I am using.  Versions in Settings are:

MSN Edge 44,18362.44.0  and MSN Edge 18.18363.  Any suggestions?   Desktop, Windows 10, v 1909 64b

Hi klaro

you are running legacy edge (i.e. not the new edge chromium)

version 44.18362.44

the other number refers to the edge HTML

HTML version 18.18363.

if you want to install edge chromium now rather than wait for it to be offered through windows update, you can download it from

Thanks martmcd for the advice.  This is my main concern.  After each and every upgrade or even update in Windows(since win. 7) too many problems and need for fixes appear for 2-3 weeks following what ever change was made.  I find do many unwanted programs, features added to my pc that I will never use.  I am a very old person, living alone, and don't need all the bells and whistles that windows and msn like to attach when they can.  I want only the most simple to operate browser possible.  But just going through an upgrade or browser change of any kind causes me a lot of time spent making corrections.  Rarely has an upgrade been completed satisfactorily.  Glitches seem to be the norm.  To me a PC should be like a car, turn the key and the darned thing runs., because that what it is meant to do.  I am far too old and crotchety to want to

waste my time fixing what was not broke.  I think I had best just keep on trying to muddle through with the pc as it is.  I need to have a complete reset up of Windows 10 but cannot afford it.

I sincerely thank you, et all, who are willing to offer suggestions to help we who should probably not be trying to get into this century.
