“This page is having a problem” error when trying to access any website in the new Microsoft Edge

I’ve installed the new Microsoft Edge, however, browsing to any website will result in a “This page is having a problem” error. Error Code: STATUS_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION.  The same error accessing the edge://settings. Firefox and IE11 are working. Using Windows 2008 R2 SP1

Attempted fix but no change.

To disable the Code Integrity feature in the registry, set the following registry key:

Key: HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Edge

Name: RendererCodeIntegrityEnabled

Type: DWORD (32-bit)

Value: 0

Any ideas?  Thanks.

Since Daniel never replied and it seems many people are interested in the question I though I would reply.. with a possible fix!

    edge://conflicts gives "Error code: STATUS_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION"

    Google Chrome works without problems.

Uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling, rebooting. Does not fix the issue.

No 3rd party security software installed. Windows 2008R2 patched to la(te)st released.

And the important part - You are running Citrix!

    1. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\CtxHook.
    2. Add msedge.exe to the registry key ExcludedImageNames so it reads something like  " msedge.exe,chrome.exe,nacl64.exe ".
Note: If registry key ExcludedImageNames doesn’t already exist, you’ll need to create it.

    Sorry to hear this!

Disabling RendererCodeIntegrity is typically associated with fixing errors of code STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_HASH.

STATUS_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION is likely caused by a different sort of problem. Do you see this crash if you attempt to load Edge-internal pages like edge://conflicts ?

It might be interesting to understand if you're seeing the same problem if you try Google Chrome? Do you know what antivirus or security software you have installed? Is it fully up-to-date?
