Yesterday, 3-16-20, I updated to the new version of Microsoft Edge.  Now the volume is doing odd things.  In YouTube after I pause, or go back to the YouTube home page and begin a new video, the volume gets VERY quiet.  The only solution I have found is opening a new tab and then using my history to start the video again.

On the Movies and TV app, when I have my laptop connected to my home entertainment center, if I stream a movie or a TV show I cannot adjust the volume with the controls built into the Movies and TV app.  If I play a movie or TV show that is found in my video file on my laptop, or an external source like a HDD or flash drive, the built in volume controls work normally.

I have checked for new drivers for the sound cards and it says they are up to date and there are no new drivers available.  I never had any of these problems till I updated to the newer version of Microsoft Edge.

OK, So I think I figured out the solution to both problems.

The YouTube issue I was having came back.  So resetting Edge did not fix the issue like I thought it had.  I opened up the Speaker/headphones properties and unchecked the option under "Signal Enhancements" called  enable audio enhancements.  Once I turned this off the issue with YouTube stopped.

For the Movies and TV app I opened the same box and turned off the option under "Exclusive mode" to "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device."  After I turned that off I was able to adjust the volume in the Movies and TV app while streaming content.

Unfortunately, resetting the Movies and TV app did not fix the problem.

It really is an odd problem.  And I never experienced it until I downloaded the newer version of Edge.  I do not know if it began right away, as I downloaded the new edge yesterday and only attempted to adjust the volume in the Movies and TV app this morning.  It works fine when the laptop is not connected to my surround sound system.  But for some reason, now while streaming movies or shows you can only adjust the volume through the surround sound system.

You can reset the Movies and TV app by following these:

    1. Right-click the Windows button > Select "Apps and Features"
    2. Under "Apps and Features", search for the app in the box
    3. Select the app then click "Advanced Options".
    4. Scroll down to "Reset" and click the Reset button.

Please keep me posted, and reply if you need further help.

It seems to have fixed the issue with YouTube.  Thanks for the advice.  Still having the issue with the Movies and TV app.  That one is the oddest.  I do not know any way that Edge and the Movies and TV app could be related.  I think I will look in the Movies and TV app and see if there is an option to reset the settings as well.
