Downloaded files on android

I'm using edge as browser on android 10 (but happened before update too).

When i download a file, i can see it in the download tab but i can't open it from there (any type even when i have apps for them). The only action available is "remove".

But i also gave no idea where to find these downloaded files using the file apps on my phone.

Very annoying! How do i get to view/find these downloaded files??

I uninstalled Edge and reinstalled it. The next time I downloaded a file, I was prompted where to download it. There was a check box to never show this dialog again which was checked by default and I unchecked it. After that I was able to open the downloaded files. It may be a coincidence, but I noticed the Samsung my files app changed at the same time to show me a history of the downloaded files. I can also open the files through that history now.

I've found out where the files go.

On my device I'm saving on SD card:

    Android - data - com.microsoft.emmx - files - download

Found by using the search function in file manager.

Why they don't show up in 'recent' or why i can't open them directly from the download tab stays a mystery.

I also have this problem and Microsoft doesn't know how to fix the problem so the answer is "switch browsers".

And the browser doesn't support changing folder for downloads either?

No wonder Google is so successful.

I too am having this issue.  Does anyone have an answer that is not change your browser? (We are not idiots, we know that, but do not wish to do that)

    Ann thank you so much!

I had tried the search function in my file manager, but it did not work.

I had managed to find the PDF documents, by opening Adobe and searching through that, but could not see source folder and was not able to view anything else.

Your solution was perfect and can now see all my downloads from Edge and have created a shortcut to that folder onto the front page of My files folder.

This was potentially be a game changer for me, so glad that a solution has been found.
