Hello,

Many users are unable to sign into Gmail account in Google chrome and MS edge browser . It gives the error below:

Chrome gives "Connection failed (-101)" error on login/sync to google account.

We have reinstalled Google chrome, reset chrome, reset MS edge, reset windows profile, disabled IPV6 but nothing is working.

Please suggest.

Regards,

Rakesh

Try another browser or mail client first please. Even if it is a Windows problem with this little information i can not possibly tell the cause.

    Install all Windows Updates.

Make sure your system time is not too off as this prevents secure connections from happening.

    Clearing Data and Cache

Go to Settings > Apps. Tap All > Google Play Store then finally tap the Clear Cache button.

Clear out your Play Store data

Go to Settings > Apps > All > Google Play services then tap the Clear Cache button. If that fails to solve the problem, come back to this page and tap the Clear Data button.

Update Chrome. Reinstall it of problems continue. Then you can ask in the chrome forum for further assistance as i am no chrome expert.

    Hello rakeshkapoor2,

thank you for providing this question.

I am a seasoned Windows expert with almost a decade in usage and support experience and hope to resolve your problems quickly.

So you go to google.com and click sign in and afterwards you encounter the error? Its no html error code i know thats why i wonder. Or are you trying to sign into your chrome browser profile inside edge?

I can easily sign in on google.com using Edge so i cannot reproduce the error.

Can you open other webpages fine?

If you consider your problem solved it would be very good if you marked the answer which helped you so others can find and use this thread.

If this didn't solve your problem or you need further assistance please answer in this thread and i would be happy to help.

    kind regards

    F. Grobusch
